One of the many great aspects of this season in southeast Michigan is the many fairs, festivals and events taking place.

There are a ton of great spring events happening, both indoor and out, and we wanted to share a few worth keeping top of mind.

Motor City Nightmares

The nightmares return, but in a good way! The Motor City Nightmares Horror Expo and Film Festival takes place at The Novi Sheraton from Friday, April 22 through Sunday, April 24. This year’s event features several celebrities and the inaugural “Nightmare Hall of Fame Awards.” Check out the movie lineup as well.

Spring Fever Beer Fest

This year’s Spring Fever Beer Fest at the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market features 40 breweries and more than 100 beers and ciders. A few spirits, games and food vendors will also be on-site. The event takes place on Saturday April 23.

Palmer Park Art Fair

The Palmer Park Art Fair is a spring staple in Detroit. The 2016 edition takes place on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15. Admission to the event is free, leaving you to spend your money on the gorgeous artwork and delicious food. Artists from 20 different states will be in attendance.

Movement Electronic Music Festival

What would spring in Detroit be without the Movement Festival in Hart Plaza? The annual Memorial Day Weekend event happens from Friday, May 28 through Sunday, May 30. The event features more than 120 techno/electronic music performances, and six separate stages!

A few others to consider:

Detroit Music Awards – Detroit, April 29

Art Birmingham – Birmingham, May 7-8

Utica Antiques Market – Utica, May-7-8

Motor City Comic Con – Novi, May 13-15

Ashley’s Cask Ale Festival – Westland, May 14

28th Annual Great Lakes Boating Festival – Grosse Pointe, May 20-22

As you can tell, the spring is chock-full of fun, entertaining and friendly events. I would strongly advise going to at least one of these events, but hey, that’s your call.
